There is a constant debate between drawers vs cupboards when it comes to kitchen designs. But which is really the best solution?
A project by Kitchen Envy, full of drawers with stunning veneer timber faces.

Drawers:
PROS:
- Drawers allow for easy access to every item within your kitchen and are ideal for people with limited mobility.
- Drawers are not only easier to access, but easier to see into!
- Drawers are amazing for organisation within your kitchen - add in spice racks, dividers, even plate stands to make better use of space
- Drawers are a must have for tupperware! All lids in one drawer, stack all the bases in another and you will find the time you wasted finding the partner to a lid, will be a problem for the past!

CONS:
- Whilst most people swear by them, the biggest downside to drawers are there cost. Drawers in moderation is normally be fine, but if you have a large scale kitchen with drawers everywhere, you will notice an increase in your project cost.
- For tall items like vases ect, drawers may be limiting as to what tall items can fit in it.

Cupboards:
PROS:
- Cupboards often include an adjustable shelf, for additional flexibility
- Cupboards are most cost effective than drawers, especially luxurious soft close drawers, which include multiple drawer runner systems per bank of drawers

CONS:
- Items often get lost in the darkness of the back of a cupboard, never to be seen again
- How often will you grab the item that will "kinda be okay" instead of the item that is exactly what you need but is in the very back corner?
- and if you do commit to getting that perfect item from the back, you will literally be on your hands and knees on the kitchen floor
- Although it does depend on your style, many homeowners find cupboards less attractive than drawers.

What does this all mean?
Our recommendation for you is to definitely include a selection of drawers, from shallow drawers (for items like cutlery, utensiles) and larger drawers (for pots, tupperware). We then recommend mixing the two by adding in a few cupboards for those larger items to help keep the cost down and give plenty of spaces to store all your vital kitchen accessories!
